ROYAL GARDEN PARTIES
Three Royal Garden Parties are held at Buckingham Palace every year with about 8,000 people attending each party. People from all sections of the community are invited, usually through organisations such as Government, Armed Services, Police, Church and Other Faiths. In addition the Lord-Lieutenant can nominate guests, within a quota, from Suffolk.
The Lieutenancy assists The Royal Household by nominating people from the County who deserve an invitation through their work or voluntary work in their community.
Who can be nominated?
Anyone can be nominated for a Royal Garden Party as long as they are over 18. If you are aware of someone who has made a major contribution to life in their community or provided exceptional service in some other way, you could recommend that they are invited to attend a garden party.
How do I nominate someone?
Nominating someone couldn't be easier. Please write to the Lord-Lieutenant or Lieutenancy Office giving a brief outline of the person and why you think they deserve to be invited. The deadline for nominations is the end of October each year.
Places are very limited each year and all will be carefully considered by the Lord-Lieutenant.
