ROYAL GARDEN PARTIES

Royal Garden Parties are held at Buckingham Palace every year, usually in May. They are hosted by The King and Queen, often accompanied by other members of the Royal Family. People from all sections of the community are included, and are invited, usually through organisations such as local or national government, the Armed Services, the Police and emergency services, the charitable and voluntary sector and through churches of all faiths.

The Lieutenancy assists The Royal Household by nominating people from Suffolk who deserve this special recognition for their outstanding work or voluntary service in local communities. The Lord Lieutenant is always pleased receive nominations for those who deserve recognition

Who can be nominated?

If you are aware of someone who has made a significant contribution to their local community or who has provided exceptional service in some other way, please nominate them to attend a garden party by contacting the Lieutenancy Office.

How do I nominate someone?

It's easy! Please write to the Lord-Lieutenant or Lieutenancy Office giving a brief outline of the person and why you think they deserve to be invited. The deadline for nominations is the end of October, for garden parties being held the following year. All nominations are received and considered in strictest confidence.

Places are very limited each year and all nominations will be very carefully considered by the Lord-Lieutenant.
