Chorus Intelligence Limited are Presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise

1st July 2022
Presentation of the qAE
Mark Pendlington, DL presenting the QAE to CEO Boyd Mulvey

On behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk, Mark Pendlington, presented Boyd Mulvey, CEO of Chorus Intelligence Ltd with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise on Thursday 30th June.  The Ceremony took place at a gathering of the company’s employees at Rushmere.

Chorus was awarded the Queen’s Award in 2020 in the Innovation category.  The presentation of the Award had been delayed due to the pandemic and the company wished to celebrate the achievement at a time when it could safely bring all its employees together.

Chorus Intelligence Ltd formed in 2011 and is based in Woodbridge. Mr Mulvey used know-how from sifting large data sets in the financial industry and applied it to law enforcement to creating Chorus Analyse, an advanced data cleansing and formatting tool, which is now used by over 80% of police forces and all of the counter terrorism units in the UK.  It allows users to spot connections in the data that would otherwise remain hidden.

Mark Pendlington congratulated the company for its innovation and leadership in creating a data system of national importance and also recognised their achievements in the two years since being presented with the Award. He commented

‘The East of England is full of innovation, entrepreneurship and ideas, and it is companies like the Chorus Intelligence Ltd that lead by example and are at the forefront of security in the UK.

Since winning the Award Chorus have continued to innovate with a new piece of Software – The Chorus Intelligence Suite and has not only opened a second office in Cambridge, but has also opened its first overseas office in North America. The company has gained many significant new customers in the last two years and been so successful that staff numbers have doubled, a real achievement given the difficulties experienced by so many companies during the pandemic.

The company was presented with the QAE Crystal bowl and Scroll, which is signed personally by HM The Queen and the Prime Minister.

Following the presentation The Deputy Lieutenant met with many of the company’s employees to learn more about the success of this outstanding company.
