Suffolk celebrates business achievement and excellence with the announcement of six winners of the internationally recognised King’s Award for Enterprise:

The Lord-Lieutenant has sent her warmest congratulations to each winner, saying: “I am absolutely delighted that you have achieved this wonderful accolade in recognition of your outstanding achievements. Suffolk is so very proud and I look forward to celebrating this success when I visit each of the winners to present the Award on behalf of His Majesty The King.”

The Suffolk Lieutenancy

The post of Lord-Lieutenant is now an honorary appointment. The origin dates back to Henry VIII when its holder was made responsible for the maintenance of order and for the military measures necessary locally for defence. Go to our History page to find out more information about the role.
